Harold Veldkamp studied Business Informatics in Groningen, The Netherlands. After working in the ICT industry covering a wide variety of business lines such as Finance, Government and Telecommunications, he became involved in the Energy sector and remained in that sector until today. He has been a member of the standardization committee of the Dutch smart meter requirements, member of the Smart Grids taskforce of the Dutch government and member of the evaluation committee of national energy related grant programs. He co-founded research centres such as RenQi and Entrance, both situated in Groningen. Right now he is employed by Alliander, serving as the delivery manager for all innovation projects related to Energy Transition for the Asset Management department. This includes responsibility for all testing grounds and facilities where these projects are carried out, including but not limited to residential storage, smart design etcetera.
