Biography

James Barry is a research scientist at Project Competence E (PCE) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He has been involved in the procurement, development and commissioning of several energy storage projects, in particular a multi-kWh PV-battery system at the Helmholtz Institute Ulm. James holds a PhD in physics from the University of Heidelberg, and worked as a researcher in the field of neutrino physics at the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics for four years. After his PhD James made the quantum leap from theoretical physics to renewable energy research at KIT, where he uses advanced data analysis methods to optimise the integration of energy storage solutions.
