$20m In Research Grants For Thermochemical Energy Storage
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has just announced a $20 million fund for research and development of thermochemical energy storage (TCES) systems specifically related to Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technology. The funding comes under the program called “Efficiently Leveraging Equilibrium Mechanisms for Engineering New Thermochemical Storage (CSP: ELEMENTS)”.
TCES projects that wish to attain funding under this program should focus on utility-scale storage, provide a minimum of 6 hours of power, be able to supply energy at a cost of less than $15 per kWh-thermal, and the system must operate at temperatures of above 650 ºC.
If you want to know more about this and other topics directly from end users of energy storage technologies join us at one of these annual events: The Energy Storage World Forum (Grid Scale Applications), or The Residential Energy Storage Forum, or one of our Training Courses.
