99.9% Of Chinese Get Access To Electricity With Grid Investment
According to a report released by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC), the proportion of Chinese with access to electricity had reached 99.948% in 2012.
This was due to the soaring investments in power distribution grid networks to both urban and rural areas, especially by the major power supply enterprises.
Last year, SGCC invested some 181.6 billion yuan in the 220kV (and below) grid, while China Southern Power Grid invested 37.64 billion yuan. The 5 major regional power supply enterprises also invested 8.21 billion yuan, a 7.2% year-on-year growth.
