Biggest Energy Storage System Begins Operation

The largest utility owner in the United States, Duke Energy, has announced that the largest battery power storage system has commenced operation at the company’s wind farm in Texas.

Duke also expects the system to improve the reliability of the power grid through rapid response to changes in supply and demand. Such systems could be able to help the state to avoid blackouts as it addresses the imminent issue of tightening power supplies.
