Bill Gates Invests In Energy Storage
Bill Gates is one of the latest to back Aquion Energy, a clean-tech firm that is developing water-based battery systems. He joined the Series D financing round which attracted some $35 million in collective funding.
His investment in Aquion is understood to be his third one in clean-tech.
Aquion’s water-based battery systems aim to use cheap, readily available, non-toxic materials like saltwater in its Aqueous Hybrid Ion batteries. The company plans to cater the technology to both small and large-scale energy storage applications.
