BAP Session – Day 3 – Taking The Forum To The Next Step

After all the power point presentations from all 3 forum days have been completed, we will be running a tailored discussion in parallel groups centred on active engagement, collaboration and innovative methods to tackling specific issues which came up during the conference. Each group discussion will then be followed by a step by step approach on how to implement solutions.

The materialisation of a commonly envisioned sustainable future is dependent upon the conception and subsequent execution of a viable action plan. Drawing upon the lessons absorbed from the presentations shared over the course of the three day Forum, the conclusive “Building the Action Plan” segment of the conference encourages delegates to engage, collaborate and devise methods to tackling challenges that plague the issue of widespread application of energy storage technology and grid integration.

With ‘Innovate’ signifying an imperative call for action rather than an empty declarative, “Building the Action Plan” invites delegates to consider a step by step approach on how to implement solutions needed to achieve a palpable renewable future. Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, Board of Directors & Chairperson, Communications Working Group at Electricity Storage Association, will steer the direction of the discussion.

Several foundational guidelines relevant to creating a sustainable future will be made apparent throughout the conference, these will no doubt feed into this session, including: firstly, identifying the storage technology needed, secondly, evaluating the storage technology’s cost and strategising the integration of the storage technology into the grid system, and thirdly formulating a comprehensive regulatory framework and business case to enable the smooth application of energy storage technology.

Nonetheless, true success in the genesis of a renewable future rests squarely upon the creativity of the human mind, e.g. you, the participants on that day, and that is precisely what “Building the Action Plan” intends to tap on. “Building The Action Plan” (TM) is a unique feature of Dufresne’s Energy Storage Forum and we look forward to seeing you there at 16 pm on Day 3!

If you want to know more about this and other topics directly from end users of energy storage technologies join us at one of these annual events: The Energy Storage World Forum (Grid Scale Applications), or The Residential Energy Storage Forum, or one of our Training Courses.

Ultracapacitor UPS (U-UPS) for voltage dips and micro-interruptions

Power interruptions are the most frequent power supply problems with wide-ranging consequences for industry. The causes of these interruptions include short-circuits in the distribution grid, lightning strikes, the connection and disconnection of power plants as well as volatile energy producers such as wind and solar. Because technologies and production processes are becoming increasingly complex, the…
