New Energy Storage Product Intensifies Competition In The US Energy Storage Market
Sonnenbatterie GmbH debuted its US energy storage products this week. The company being the market leader for energy storage systems in Europe, has announced that the US versions of their residential and commercial products are now available to order in the US for the first time.
Marketing director, Stefanie Kohl, states that residential systems will be priced at USD$ 1500-$2500 per kWh, while commercial units will cost between USD $800-$1500 per kWh. As competition to the Tesla Powerwall announced earlier this May, Sonnenbatteries’ fully integrated storage system is equipped with battery cells, an inverter and energy management- allowing for fast and cheap installation.
Just last month Sonnenbatterie announced a new research and development facility in Atlanta and a deal for North-American distribution with Sungevity. Sonnenbatterie products are now available in North America, exclusively through local solar installers called Sonnenbatterie Centres.
