Grid-Scale Energy Storage Investments In China Reach $500 Million
China’s electric grid was the largest in terms of installed capacity and electricity produced in the world, in 2012. The nation invests about $500 million in grid-scale energy storage technologies.
China is among the nations having the largest installations of alternative energy systems such as wind, solar and, of course, hydroelectric dams. It is estimated that the country’s adoption of advanced storage technologies will rise from being almost negligible, to 700 MW by 2016.
