Pilot Solar Plant In France
A new pilot solar plant was inaugurated recently at the CEA (Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission), in Cadarache, France. MICROSOL is a government-funded project and provides isolated populations with essentials such as electricity and drinking water in a sustainable way, by making use of natural resources.
The solar concentrator and receptor for the plant were built by Exosun, while the technology to convert the heat into electricity on-site was provided by Exoès. With the inclusion of Exosun’s energy storage solution, the plant can remain functional 24 x 7. If all goes well with this pilot test, new projects will be developed in two African nations in 2014.
