GE and Arista Power Energy Storage Alliance to Smooth Grid Demand
Arista Power has chosen to integrate GE’s innovative Durathon batteries into its new Power on Demand system. The Durathon battery technology comprises of a nickel salt battery, which is smaller and lighter than traditional batteries and can be incorporated into telecommunications, utilities and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications.
The Power on Demand system uses energy generated by wind turbines, solar PV, the electric grid and other power sources in conjunction with a custom-designed battery storage system and proprietary real-time demand monitoring technology. The technology is intended to maintain grid demand and release stored power only during peak demand periods.
If you want to know more about this and other topics directly from end users of energy storage technologies join us at one of these annual events: The Energy Storage World Forum (Grid Scale Applications), or The Residential Energy Storage Forum, or one of our Training Courses.
