New York Passes Bill To Expand Solar Energy Storage
New York State, under Governor Cuomo, is showing businesses that it is walking the talk on clean energy. The State Senate recently approved legislation that would include creating a new tax credit program to lure solar and PV battery manufacturers to New York.
State Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr. said the move was also aimed at improving the economy by creating jobs and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. In light of Hurricane Sandy last year, New York is also seeking to improve reliability and stability of its own electricity supply.
The next step is approving of the bill in the State Assembly chamber.
