PV Inverter Customers Expect Storage To Play Major Role
A large number of photovoltaic (PV) inverter customers surveyed said that they expected energy storage to play a major role in the future of solar systems.
German, Italian and British customers even felt that energy storage was the most important requirement for future PV inverters. They also explained that energy storage systems were now more viable because batteries that are adopted in these systems are now much cheaper.
The survey also noted that more customers are using microinverters instead, taking into consideration the products’ ability to counter the effects of shading and that they are more adaptable for usage. The only barrier to the widespread market entry of microinverters is the high cost.
