Solar Energy Storage Now Made Available To Households

Bosch Solar, a German electronics company, unveiled its new solution to energy storage at the Renewable Energy Exhibition EnR 2013 in Lyon, France this week (19-22 Feb).

Bosch’s solution- the integrated VS 5 Hybrid energy management and storage solution- will supplement existing residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems as well as new-build ones.

The system which uses lithium-ion batteries, will allow households with solar panels to store excess solar energy for usage during times of short supply. At present, households equipped with solar panel purchase expensive  energy from the electrical grid to make up for shortfall, for example, when sunlight is scarce.
