Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries To Be Sold In North America

German battery giant Gildemeister Energy Solutions will now market its vanadium redox flow battery, called the CellCube, in North America via American Vanadium Corp.

The CellCube is said to be capable of scaling up to multi megawatt size and can last for hours. American Vanadium hopes to eventually phase in its supply of vanadium from the Gibellini Mine in Nevada, which is in the midst of approval.

The CellCube’s main advantages are that it lasts for twenty years, the electrolyte does not degenerate, and can be reacquired and reused.
