Georg Vogt holds degrees in economics from the University of Bonn and European Studies from the University of Leeds.
He joined Empirica in 2011. He managed smart grid projects covering distributed flexibility, renewables, smart metering, heat, BEMS, efficiency and smart homes covering 13 countries.
His policy research and analysis include capturing the status quo and transposition process of EU Directives in all 28 Member States. Data protection and privacy for smart energy is based on Empirica’s longstanding experience on designing and implementing policies and services on digital patient data records.
In 2018-2019, he worked for management consulting company advice supporting DSOs in reorganising their technical departments and set-up an innovation and digitalisation process to select and integrate start-ups and specialists in transforming organisations.
Currently, he is part of the accompanying research for the 500 Mio programme SINTEG providing research on, for instance, acceptance, digitisation and flexibility markets in Europe.
