Joern Hackbarth is the Executive Vice President, Global Head of Engineering & Construction for Sonnedix, a solar Independent Power Producer with over 1.6 GW controlled capacity in eight countries. Joern’s team supports Business Development during the acquisition phase of existing and new-build plants, oversees the design and construction of greenfield assets and the optimisation of completed plants before transitioning them to Asset Management. Prior to Sonnedix, Joern was a Vice President at Scatec Solar Solution, leading the engineering and company competence centre for PV design and prior to this, Director, Power Plant Construction at Phoenix Solar.
Joern holds a MSc in Project Management from the University of Aberdeen, UK, an Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lübeck Technical University, Germany, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the US.
