Mark Schmitz has a civil engineering degree and a PhD in mechanical engineering. He has been working for 17 years in R&D for concentrated solar power, first at the German Aerospace Center then at the Solar-Institut Jülich.
For seven years, he has now been responsible for R&D at TSK Flagsol, a pioneering company in the application of thermal storage systems. Mark Schmitz has been researching thermal storage systems based on ceramics, sand and molten nitrate salts.
If you want to know more about this and other topics directly from end users of energy storage technologies join us at one of these annual events: The Energy Storage World Forum (Grid Scale Applications), or The Residential Energy Storage Forum, or one of our Training Courses.
