Mats Nilsson is a Professor of Economics and hired by the Swedish regulator (the Energy Markets Inspectorate) since 2017. Mats has been with the Swedish competition authority, the Swedish energy markets regulator, Vattenfall and Swedenergy in different roles and capacities.
His main achievements is working with the development of the deregulated markets both as an employee with the regulator and as being a part of the industry. Mats Nilsson has a MSC from the university of Alaska Fairbanks and a doctoral degree from Lukeå University of Technology. Mats also has a MBA from Stockholm University.
