Michael Kramer received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and management from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. He started as a research associate at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2013, where he is currently working as a team leader and project manager on energy research projects. Mr. Kramer has been involved in software development and integration projects in collaboration with the energy industry to design platform solutions for optimal planning and operation in smart grids. He has been on research visits at the Tsinghua University in Beijing and the Grid Integration Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California. His research interests include urban energy systems with a focus on advanced control and optimization of distributed energy systems, smart grids and local energy markets.
