Rory McCarthy is a senior analyst with the Global Energy Storage team at Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables, where he focuses on the Europe, Middle East and Africa storage markets.
He previously worked at an early-stage tech firm, developing grid-scale front-of- and behind-the-meter storage projects in the U.K. Prior to this, Rory worked at the U.K. energy regulator Ofgem focusing on policy and regulation for the grid edge and storage. He has over eight years of experience in the energy space along with a previous career in software systems and deployment. Rory holds a master’s degree in environmental technology and energy policy from Imperial College and an undergraduate degree in computation from the University of Manchester.
