A new smart electric thermal storage system (SETS) might just be the game-changer the Thermal Energy Storage (TES).
The Quantum storage heater produced by two companies, UK energy supplier SSE and appliance manufacturer Dimplex, could provide up to 54 GW of flexible storage capacity across Europe by 2050. It could also give customers up to 20 percent in efficiency savings.
Ian Marchant, chief executive of SSE says, “Smart electric thermal storage has huge potential to help in this area, as well as saving people money and giving them much better control over their heating.”
