CPUC Rulings To Increase Energy Storage

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has voted to adopt a proposed framework for analyzing energy storage needs, which could ultimately result in mandating energy storage for utilities.

The agency has also voted to increase incentive levels for both residential and commercial customers under Step 1 of the California Solar Initiative (CSI)-Thermal program, with the goal of increasing early participation. Incentive levels will be increased by 45% of single-family residential customers and 13.33% for commercial and multi-family residential customers under Step 1.
