$1.1 Million Raised To Improve Lead-acid Even Further
Lead-acid batteries are already an established market.
Yet, Christiaan Beekhuis, founder of Gridtential, intends to improve even more on this technology.
His newly founded startup has managed to raise some $1.1 million in a seed round led by The Roda Group.
But why lead-acid? Beekhuis thinks that lead-acid is somewhat similar to solar photovoltaic (PV). Crystalline silicon for solar PV has seen some challenges, yet continues to improve. The same with lead-acid.
Beekhuis is realistic about his market for now. He notes that it will take some time before he can find the suitable customers, so in the meantime, finding the finances for his startup will be his priority.
