Advanced Battery Launched By Philadelphia Navy Yard
Philadelphia’s Navy Yard has brought online a new battery that improves grid reliability. Using specially designed control systems, the battery injects or draws out energy from the grid, based on a signal from a utility.
A part of the GridSTAR Smart Grid Experience Center that is being developed at the Navy Yard led by Penn State, the Department of Energy, the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the facility will include many features. These include energy storage, electric vehicle charging stations, an area for a smart grid demonstration home, and also an indoor-outdoor training facility.
If you want to know more about this and other topics directly from end users of energy storage technologies join us at one of these annual events: The Energy Storage World Forum (Grid Scale Applications), or The Residential Energy Storage Forum, or one of our Training Courses.
