Molten-Salt Storage Now In Latin America
SolarReserve, a U.S.-based solar energy developer is now moving into the Latin American market, with the opening of its office in Santiago, Chile. SolarReserve says it will be focusing on providing renewable energy generation and storage capability to the mining sector.
While Latin America has a lot of wind and hydro power, solar projects are dismal. SolarReserve hopes their molten-salt storage project will help to stabilize the grid with the increasing percentage of energy accounted for by intermittent renewables. SolarReserve’s molten-salt project is said to be efficient and quick to respond.
