Sharp Electronics Installs Energy Storage Solution At Baker Electric Facility, California

Sharp Electronics Corporation’s Energy Systems and Services Group (Sharp) has installed its SmartStorage® Behind-the-Meter energy storage solution at Baker Electric’s headquarters located in Escondido, California.

This is a 30kW storage system coupled with Baker’s existing 90kW solar PV system that will help cap expensive utility demand charges for Baker’s commercial building customers.

Carl Mansfield, General Manager of Sharp Electronics Corporation’s Energy Systems and Services Group, notes that the PV solutions from Baker Electric with their SmartStorage® energy storage solution provide ” a powerful duo for building owners wanting to lower peak demand usage without disrupting their day-to-day operations”. Ted Baker, CEO of Baker Electric, also shared similar sentiments.

Sharp’s system uses the latest Li-ion batteries with sophisticated, predictive analytics and controls to manage the release of energy from the battery.
